The drive is the longest of our standard transfers — around three hours along the PATHE motorway and then west on the E65 into Thessaly. About the Destination
Meteora is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most striking landscapes in Greece, with six active Orthodox monasteries built on top of vertical sandstone pillars. The two villages directly below — Kalambaka and the smaller Kastraki — are the standard base for visitors and the starting point for all monastery visits.
The drive from Thessaloniki Airport heads south on the PATHE motorway, then turns west onto the E65 motorway near Larissa, crossing Thessaly to reach Kalambaka. The roads are modern, fast, and almost entirely motorway-grade.

Can you drop us at our hotel in Kastraki rather than Kalambaka?
Yes. Kastraki is just two kilometres from Kalambaka and we drop at either village. Provide the address at booking.
Do you provide return transfers to the airport?
Yes. Pickup from Kalambaka is typically 4 hours before international departures, given the 3-hour drive.
Can you combine the airport transfer with a same-day Meteora monastery tour?
Yes. A common request is airport pickup, monastery tour with our driver, then hotel check-in. We arrange this as a single combined service.
What if my flight is delayed?

Is there a dress code for the monasteries?
Yes, but only when you actually visit the monasteries — long trousers for men, long skirts or scarves around the waist for women, and covered shoulders. None of this applies to the transfer itself.
